does it matter? My dh said he was seeking help because I was so unhappy. He was doing it for me. Men have been raised to do things for others-to be a team player, fight in war for family and country, work to support wife and kids, etc. Often times the only way to get them into therapy involves them believing they are doing it for others. Later, should he want to stop therapy before it's in his best interest, this may be a clue how to encourage him to stick with it.
Go with it and may he get the help he needs.
