Well done MrH!

I agree with all that you've suggested. Haven't read the Johnstone's books, but will add them to my wishlist.

Excercise is a must, and I admit that I am not as good about meeting my goals as I once was. I also experience SAD and have used light therpy. It's ok. In all honesty (please don't laugh), I find that indoor tanning does wonders for my winter blues. Give it a try : )

For me, finding a little faith was a big help as well - in addition to or in lieu of meditation...

Unfortunately, I learned that living a "healthy" lifestyle was simply not enough for me this time, even though it has been in the past. I have, my father had, my Aunts and cousins have....a chemical imbalance. Older generations self-medicated with alcohol. I am very cognizant of that and am content to take my happy pills.

I would add: Be realistic about yourself, your limitation. If you have done your very best and are still feeling "off", it is OK to seek and accept help! It does not mean you are weak or flawed. It means you want to be your own personal best!
