This is such a toughie CM. I went through the same thing with my husband and although he has finally sought help, I STILL think he is somewhat in denial. The strategy I used was to tell him as often as I felt I could (without sounding like a broken record), that he's just not himself, and that he fits the symptoms of depression to a T. I told him to go to the doctor and talk about it, if it wasn't depression, I'd leave him alone. But if it was, he needed to get help. This took months! Now that he has finally gotten help, he has the attitude (since we haven't found the right med yet) that it must not be depression because he doesn't feel any different. Now it's a struggle to get him to keep up with doctors appointments. It's so tough to be in this situation, for sure! Hang in there and keep working on him.
