Help Needed: I’m sorry for the turmoil you are going through. As a recovering depressed person I know how difficult the words coming out of our mouths. My suggestion is to not take it too heart. We do not understand what we say can be hurtful. Our perception of what we say and do is
· Distorted
· Manipulated
· Filled with distrust
Our feelings are limited to anger, apathy, pain and shame. I know this is no excuse, but I hope my words can help you realize that none of this was meant to hurt you. (unless he was an @ss to begin with)
I am still apologizing for the harsh words I said to my ‘soon to be exwife.’ She forgives me, and I am absolutely stunned by the crazy things I have said or done. This disease is absolutely horrible. I hope you find the strength and fortitude to stay true to yourself, and don’t let these petty words hurt you. I know you are walking on eggshells with your DSO, but you have to make sure you are taking care of yourself. Our depression will not allow us to be considerate of your feelings. For that I am sorry.
