Personally (and this is my personal opinion) I would not be jumping on the med thing..
When your counsellor did this 'test', did she take into account that you are grieving.

When i studied grief and loss (which is not just about death, but about any loss; loss of job, loss of a life as we knew it, divorce, etc etc ) i read that many Drs put people who are actually in deep grief, onto anti Ds, apparently this is wrong, because the person is sad, grieving and not actually depressed, however the symptoms are very much alike.

Get your counsellor to work with you using CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy)and also some EFT (Emotional freedom technique). Google these if you are unsure of how they work.
I found them very beneficial when I was grieving the loss of my life, marriage, dreams etc.

Stay strong, you can do this and you will get through it. It just takes time.
Remember your thoughts control your life.
Stop the negative thoughts is something we can often control when we have the right tools.
