Hi Cosmic Seraph,
I wish I could say something positive to you here, but as I read your post it reminded me of how my own dramas began and set the alarm bells ringing. My husband lost his job the year before last and ever since has taken contract work on the other side of the country and overseas. We barely saw each other for 11 months. When we talked on the phone (often), while he did tell me he was having a few rough patches, he mostly lied to me, told me he was taking his meds and covered his depression so that I believed everything was fine between us. I was at home, running every aspect of our live and telling him everytime we spoke how proud I was of him and how much I loved him & believing in my heart that nothing would ever tear us apart because we have endured so much over our 22 years together. But when he finally came home, a stranger got off the plane. Six months later we are close to separating & I don't believe it is possible for our relationship to ever get back to where it was. He's lied to me, disrespected me, verbally abused me, stopped touching me, often doesn't talk to me (but does a grand job of acting normal to everyone else) and spends most of his time curled up on the couch either sleeping or staring at the tv. Our whole life has gone down the toilet & I can't help but wonder if it was because we were apart for so long and I was not able to step in and divert the crisis (as I have done with his 9 or 10 other depressions in the last 22 yrs). I sincerely hope that a solution becomes apparent to you before you find yourself in this same situation. Wishing you all the best.
