Hi all, I'm four months out of a relationship with a depressed ex, and I'm in the ever-going process of trying to make some sort of sense out of what
happened.
I know that one of the symptoms of depression is reduced interest in sex. However, my ex became more interested in sex, not less, but his attitude toward it was not romantic or gentle but somewhat pestering and aggressive. The last time we saw each other, he made rather desperate comments about how we were not having sex, and whenever I would try to give him a kiss or be otherwise physically affectionate, he would say things like, "oh, this would be a good position for us to try." He also came up behind me one day as I was watching a movie (I was sitting on the floor but leaning on an ottoman), and he humped my behind and said, "this would be good for us too." Smooth, right?
Does this still sound like depression? Otherwise, all of the symptoms of his D and my fallout are evident: mixed messages, apathy mixed with moments of tenderness, broken promises, irritability, inability to communicate, etc.
Thanks for your help.
