Any Ideas how to avoid getting sucked in to a dead conversation?
My BPD husband who has been living away at parents for the last 4 months. We aren't officially separated, and he wants to come home.
(See message "Stage 5 Ecape" posted in My Story if interested in the history)
I've been very clear in stating why I'm unable to have him home and why I can't live in that chaos again. He has not come to grips with the bipolar dx and has admitted as much. Depression yes, bipolar no. He isn't working and has no immediatate plans to for anxiety reasons. He goes to therapy once a week, but isn't doing much to further his progress.
My main fear is he will do anything or say anything to get back here and revert to old ways once home.
Discussions have gone so bad (immediate anger by him and blame shifting to me) in the past few weeks that we've had to involve a third party. His therapist won't do it, but our pastor was willing. We have a time scheduled in about 2 weeks.
Any ideas how to have effective communication with him and not get sucked in to a dead end conversation? It would help to have some plan for when we do the three way call with the pastor.
